Hello Friends.
So the BIG idea beind this post today is to share my thoughts about this current Serie I'm showing on Instagam "YOU...ME ..US ALONE ... A SPECIAL MOMENT IN THE CITY".
The picture below triggered what I'm about to expose to you:
But first let me paint you the picture of my day: Horrible day at the money maker place. Period. Can't go to the gym as I had a scary procedure done to back yesterday (no worries I'm fine). So basically no outlet of getting some steam out! Bummer!!!!
So I decided to go home and cook.
Want to know what? Even if you don't want to know I'll tell you anyways: quiches with sauteed mushrooms and shallots, fresh spinach and garlic chicken, served with a light salad and accompanied with a Delicious San Giovese wine.
So after the money maker place I decided to go to the Fresh Market at Union square to get the fresh products I needed.
But of course Union Square is sooooo much more than that, for the ones who don't know: it's the heaven for street photography. Everything happens there. Lots and lots of very interesting carachters. I have taken many many photographs there and so have many many Igers done the same.
So besides the well needed break after the money maker and the fresh market, I thought I might spot a few mobile photographers as it happens often. No!!!! but I still stubbled upon 2 people I knew.
Of course I had to go around the park and shoot a few things here and there.
Got a couple great shots and one of them is HER: I 'll call her THE PRETTY PAINTER.
Let me set the scene you don't see in the photograph: she was sitting by the fountain painting some very green checker patterns on a scrapbook. There were a bunch of people sitting all around the fountain, noise, traffic noise, people talking, laughing, passing by, siren at one point, buses, cars, taxis on 14th street...... very urban but nothing seemed to disturbed her. She was alone, not lonely, ALONE. So focused on what she was doing.
I quickly took a couple shots and then I stood there for a while observing her. NOTHING! NOTHING disturbed her. She was in her own world.
And this made me think and mostly reflect: this is what this all Serie of pictures is all about: finding this special moment anywhere you need it. It reminded me of ME. I often do that, I always need that. MY MOMENT. It can be anywhere and for any lenght of time, short and less short. THAT moment for me to escape in my thoughts, to regroup, to recharge my inner. SOOOOO essential, so vital.
Deep right?
This made me think: what the photographer takes pictures of, certainly the photographer is taking pictures of himself ...................................................................................................................
Now a few photographs, published and unpublished
Peace Love and Photography
